Google has changed the rules again!!!!

1. The biggest thing is CONTENT, CONTENT, CONTENT, you now must create content to get ranked higher! It should be interesting, relevant, fun, whatever your audience will share.

2. Be sure to create your own content, or if you are using content from another source, make sure that you quote the author or source in the article.

3. Its all about videos and photos these days, videos and photos are the most shared content online today. Making your own video is even better. Make sure that it is never more than 4 minutes long.

4. When posting content on social media sites always think about trying to draw people back to your website which promotes your services and creates brand awareness for your business.

5. After each blog post on your website, make it’s easy for visitors to share your content. ie. ‘like’, ‘tweet’, & ‘share’ buttons.

6. When creating content, change your mind set from ‘how do we get a sale’ to ‘how do we help people’

7. Don’t over think it too much; content on social media platforms usually has a shelf life of around 72 hours.

8. Use your 10 top keywords in all content & on all platforms, to help you ‘Get Found’ online by your potential customers.

9. Last but not least, when creating content remember to; be yourself, be dynamic, be unique, be relevant, be up to date, be smart!!!!

Top Blog Sites That Have Been Sold

The whole point of this post is to make you think of your end goal, where you want to go with your online business. Every day your working on your business, don’t just think about how much you made that day but how much your going to make for investing an additional day into your business when you go to sell your blog/company. Some of these guys were worth $30,000 a day – now that’s what gets me excited about blogging.

In my head, I have already decided I’m going to sell my blog network for millions of dollars. Here’s the clever thing about what I’m doing:

Here in the UK, if I make over £150,000 a year, I have to pay 50% (actually 51%) of anything over that to the government which makes it quite an easy decision to not take the money out of the company but instead to invest it in it. So my whole game plan is not take a big salary, live within my means and invest every penny into my business so that I can grow it to the point where it gets millions of visitors every month and ideally make me 7 figures a month also. If I keep reinvesting, growing my business for a few short years I will then be in position to sell the company for lets say a cool £10,000,000. On the first £2 million I have to pay 10% tax and then 18% after that. For me, the best part of this isn’t so much the financial side, it’s the fact that I would of built something amazing, something to be proud of, the money is just a bonus! This reminds me of this saying:

Entrepreneurship is about living a few years of your life like most won’t, so that you can live the rest of your life like most can’t!

Now think big and get inspired!
With celebrities a current trend at the time (when are they not, right?) and her website gaining a very steady stream of visitors, She managed to sell the blog to Times Inc in a deal worth $10 Million. Though you may think that there wouldn’t be much value in a gardening blog it actually did amazingly well and was eventually bought out by the company GardenWeb for a rough figure of around $1.3 Million, not bad for a blog talked mostly about flowers. Never underestimate the power of any niche community, big or small!

As we continue the LBFB Series, based on List Building For Bloggersby Phil Hollows, we get into Chapter Two – which deals mainly with basic Email Marketing terminology.

It’s important to have an understanding of all the points covered. Particularly “relevance”, which we’ll discuss more in the next post.

First, let’s focus on the “Hub & Spoke” system (see image) that Phil mentioned in the beginning of this section (page 9).

You may be familiar with this term as it relates to Link Wheels or SEO methods, but it also applies to blogging. Your blog is your primary hub, the one property you own and control, with the spokes being all of the channels & methods you use to reach out to your readership and bring targeted traffic into your blog…

Your Blog: Your Hub

Your blog or website is the one property that you own, and have complete control over. While Facebook may be hot, Google+ on the rise, and who knows what may come down the pike next… you do not own these properties, and you have very little control over those channels.

The spokes should each have a life of their own, but your main objective should always be to funnel traffic back to your blog – and ultimately onto your Mailing List where you can communicate with them in a more controlled way.

Your blog should always be your “core”, and the source for all of the content you share through your “spokes”. While this may seem like a no-brainer, I’ve seen plenty of people neglect their blog to build active Facebook Pages – or create a Facebook Page in place of a blog, even. Shocking, but true!

There are a number of reasons you should focus on your property above all the others, including:

to build your mailing list

because other properties are out of your control
ie could get deleted, blocked, or lose mass appeal

to get more visibility to ads & advertisers

to improve traffic stats for higher ad rates

because blog posts & pages rank long-term!

to improve the overall value of your property

Basically, it should ALL start and end at your blog. Make sure you are investing at least as much time on your own property as you are across your social media channels and other “spokes”.

Note: Merchants, Sponsors and Advertisers will be analyzing engagement on your blog. While your “social media rank” will be important too, they are most interested in how engaged your readers are ON your blog.

The Spokes

The spokes are your social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, Google+ – and even your RSS Feed and Mailing List.

They are each a means of reaching out to your market where they are or where they most prefer to get their content updates.

Note: It really doesn’t matter if you don’t like Twitter (or Facebook) and don’t *want* to use it. Go where the people are, go where your market is, and serve your market!

While your ultimate goal should always be to funnel traffic (fans, subscribers, followers, etc) back to your blog or website, you want to have strong engagement on each of your “spokes” as well. Strive for high response rates, ask leading questions, and build out strong properties that entice people to stay engaged with you.

Your “Social Media Rank” is very important to your overall marketing strategy, and even to the ranking of your blog/site’s pages and posts in the major search engines. So it shouldn’t be ignored by any means. Just keep in mind that your primary objective is to hook it into your main property.

How It All Works Together

I know it seems like a lot to manage. You write content, publish blog posts, share them on your social media channels, email your list, yada, yada, yada…

Do you ever feel overwhelmed with it all??

Honestly, it just *seems* like a lot. The overwhelm usually comes in when you go about trying to find ways to “automate” it. This plugin, that program, this option, etc. None of that is really necessary in my opinion.

There’s smart automation such as using Aweber’s Blog Broadcast feature to automatically send updates to your mailing list, but when it comes to my social media channels… I update them all manually.

It only takes a few seconds to post your new blog post to Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Tumblr, etc after it’s published. And updating manually gives you the opportunity to use appropriate @’s and hashtags and tags that will improve your reach on each of those channels.

I would love to hear your thoughts. How do you manage your blog, your social media channels, and your content distribution as a whole?

Where do you get frustrated, or feel most confused with the process?

Like I said, in the next post in this series we’ll discuss Relevance. Stay tuned, as this is a crucial element to your blog’s success!

Would you like to know about a simple test I did to increase my niche sales by over $600 in a matter of weeks?

I thought you might!

Admittedly, I’ve been neglecting some other projects in order to focus on creating premium content here on this blog.

As you may recall I recently took a trip Affiliate Summit West at the first of the year. Afterwards I was highly motivated and decided to have a look at some of my other projects that had been sitting idle.

One particular project had terrible code, and massively outdated search optimization. It was a prime candidate for a fast fix and long term payoff. The result was an almost immediate increase in sales.

First as a general rule, I recommend cleaning up your html code.

I say this because we’re trying to reach the goal of a highly optimized website. For the sake of this post I won’t get into a lot of detail why that’s important in terms of optimizing for search. In any case, I’m going to show you a few tools that make it so easy that you’ll have no excuse not to do this step.

This is most important for static pages. If you have WordPress or another content management system you can probably skip this step.

Now, you’ll want to save a copy of your page first. Always save copies when making any code changes!

Then grab a copy of the code or the url.

For the Mac junkies like me, check out TextMate. For the most part any of or your favorite professional html editors will have this feature. Look for something like “Tidy” or “Validate”

In TextMate it looks like this… (bundles>HTML>Tidy)

Paste your code into TextMate, or open the saved copy with it, then run that process. Presto chango, you’ve got cleaned up code!

If you don’t have a utility like that, or gasp, use a PC…then you can try this online tidy utility.

Verify that everything still works and looks correct on the new code , and then upload before proceeding. (that’s why you save a copy just in case something goes weird)

The SEO Checkup

Now that you’re starting on a relatively clean slate, here’s where the magic happens.

I’ve found some incredible tools that even the newest of beginners can use to get superb on-page SEO optimization.

There’s two that I want to focus on, and I recommend using each of them as they both have their own unique benefits.

First head on over to seo site checkup. Type your URL and click “Get Checkup”

What follows is an analysis with a long list of on page recommendations.

This first resource covers a lot of detail but it doesn’t do much for explanation. If you know what these mean, then go through and check it out. It’s probably the better analysis but not as helpful for beginners. Start here but don’t do anything yet.

Next…

Open up another new tab and go here and check your site again.

While this analysis is much shorter, it does a much better job of educating about the results you get. (they even link to a Google patent about semantic units)

There’s a lot to digest, so I’m going to make it easier for you.

The absolutely most important area to focus on is your common keywords and meta information.

Make sure they are accurately reflecting your best keyword for that particular page as well as related keywords.

POWER TIP:

While you can spend weeks optimizing every last detail, here’s a shortcut (and what I did to improve my own results)

Open another new tab, or window in your browser.

Search for your target keyword.

Copy the top ranked site URL.

Run the tool for that site

What you have now is a minimum target for the highest ranked competition to compare against your results.

As an example, on my site I didn’t bother with compression and many of the site speed and technical optimizations (for now).

I simply modified my keywords a bit and corrected some missing related keywords that I noticed other sites had included.

Not surprisingly I started seeing traffic and sales from new keyword combinations almost immediately after the new changes were re-indexed.

If it sounds simple… it is!

But that’s the benefit of having a pro like me to show you the ropes

Now get out there and fix your site until it’s a money grabbing, top ranking machine.

Enjoy

PPC Sites: Be Earned But Not to Be Deceived By Scams

PPC or pay per click is a common form of advertisement today. As a freelancer you’ve lots of opportunity to earn money by PPC or PTC sites. To earn from a PPC site you’ve to register their. Normally you need not any registration fees. But some sites take fee for registration. It depends upon their services. In normal PPC sites you’ll receive some advertisements daily & you’ve to click them. You’ll be paid for per click & for that reason the service is told pay per click or PPC.

A huge number of people rely on PPC sites as their earning source. More than 1 million new accounts in PPC sites are opened per month around the world. As a result the number of bux sites is increasing every day. But there are also many scam sites those will not pay you for your work. They’ll give you affiliate links & ads to click. And you see your account balance is increasing also. But during money withdrawal you’ll see that your withdrawal request is not accepted & you’ll be scammed. There are some other types of sites those will take money from you & after a certain they’ll escape or make their site offline.

So, to keep you save from being scammed you can take some steps before registration.

• The best way of choosing a site is taking suggestion for your friend or any other familiar persons whom were paid from this site before.
• If you don’t have any familiar person then you can see the web site review from popular review sites.
• You can also visit PPC forums & ask there about your desired site. You’ll get some answers from them.
• The trusted sites contain SSL certificate. So, you can also verify your site by SSL.
• Besides, you can also test the withdrawal option. Normally moneybookers & alertpay are used for withdrawal. So, you can also contact to moneybookers or alertpay authority to ask about the site. If they give you green signal then you can easily rely on this site. And this is the best way of verifying the site.

So, to use PPC sites always be careful about scamming because thousands of people are being deceived daily by scam sites. And if you find any scam site try to spread it everywhere trough online social media. Then a lot of people will be safe from being pretended by fraud sites.

Search Engine Optimization: What Should You Do or What Shouldn’t?

At present all web site entrepreneurs want to make their web site properly search engine optimized. This is because most of the people depend upon search engine to find their desired sites. And that’s why webmasters are becoming interested on online promotion of their site through search engine optimization. This is such a process which can make your site visible to search engine when people will search their query through specific keywords.

You can apply both on-page & off-page SEO for your site. On-page refers to the way where you use your keywords in Meta name, site content, title, topic, header, html tags etc. All of them will be available in your web page. For that reason this is called on-page optimization. And off-page optimization refers to the way of promoting your site to search engine through forums, blogs, web 2.0 sites, Facebook, E-mail marketing those are outside to your site.

Now we must know what we should actually do for proper SEO. Otherwise the site will be negatively ranked instead of improvement. At first choose a relevant, popular & easy keyword. There are many tools for choosing keywords among them ‘Google Adwords’ is the best of all. Keywords should be well researched or your investment will be failed. During on-page optimizations please avoid excess use of keywords in content or it’ll bother your visitors.

In off-page optimization most of the SEO experts use wrong ways of optimization. Most of them create fake accounts on forums, blogs etc. & then post a link of his site. Most of these links are deleted by site moderation due to spamming. Besides, spun articles, low quality profile links are also considered as spam by search engines. Only quality content backlink will be helpful for site. So, you should be concern about quality backlinks.

Besides, there are many black hat software & methods that can also make your site highly ranked within a short time. But it’ll be only for a few days. After some days you’ll be caught by Google bot & your site will be punished which make your site negatively ranked & sometimes you may be permanently punished by Google or other search engine.

So, to confirm a proper & quality SEO work you should be conscious about the techniques you’ll apply because the future of your site depends upon your techniques. You should also avoid spamming & black hat techniques for long term optimization.
